With a complex flavor that includes aspects of both caramel and dry roasted malts, Briess Extra Special is very different from the similarly-colored Caramel 120L. It tastes of toasted marshmallow, mild coffee, and prunes, with a dry, woody character. It imparts deep copper hues, trending towards light brown with heavier use.
